Final Post

by TheRealists ~ November 8th, 2009

This will be my final post for the foreseeable future.

TheRealists started as an idea back in 2002 when I was living in the UK.  I had gone from living in a relatively calm and peaceful Australia, to living in a country that was experiencing race riots and where the issue of race always seemed to be simmering away under the surface waiting to explode.

Since leaving the UK there has been more race riots, the 7 July bombings in London and now the British National Party is gaining parliamentary seats.

I didn’t want Australia to follow the same path as the UK, so when I returned from the UK in 2003 I created TheRealists.  I had grand visions of replicating in Australia what www.migrationwatchuk.com had done in the UK.  Above all else I wanted to warn Australian’s of the dangers of blindly following the same path that the UK had followed.

For the first few years the information on TheRealists was static, and only contained basic statistics.  About 18 months ago I was motivated to start blog posting by someone who believed in me and my cause.

Alas, I have found that I don’t have either the resources or the motivation to emulate what migrationwatchuk.com has done, at least not on my own.

I truly believe that Australia needs more focus on what I have tried to focus on with this website.  Having said that I am heartened that some of the issues raised on this site, in particular our high levels of immigration, have recently been more widely discussed in mainstream media.

If anyone or any group would like to see TheRealists or some such incarnation live on, feel free to contact me at info-at-therealists.com.au.

It’s sad to be writing this final post.  Perhaps I will be back, in one form or another.  Thank you for all your comments and words of encouragement.

I’m really sorry to see this site go, I only stumbled upon your site a few month ago but I have learnt alot.

As a 37 year old mother of 4 and a seventh generation Australian I am deeply concerned about the state of our country, the path we are walking and the Australia I see my children and future generations of our faily living in. I am deeply passionate about the topics you raise but as one person have no idea how to act upon the issues we face.

I’d just like to say thank you for the effort you have put in and hope that those of us who have read your site can find a way to stand against what our country faces for the future.

Thanks for your comment Bec, it’s good to hear from someone who is concerned about where our country is heading. I think the issues I talk about are gaining more widespread media coverage which can only be a good thing.

My motivation to blogging was very similar to yours, I was living in the UK, and didn’t like what I saw happening there. Subsequently, when I retuend to NZ I was keen to alert New Zealanders to the dangers of going the same way as Britain and France.

I’m also struggling to stay motivated, although I’ve managed to find another poster to help keep my blog active.

I am keen to publish one-off or occassional posts about immigration restrictionism from an Australian or New Zealand perspective, and can be contacted at my nz conservative site (nzconservative.wordpress.com) or by email at mikecourtman@windowslive.com

As to whether blogging has any impact on not, I think it all depends on numbers. If enough bloggers start up in a particular geographic area, then things can move on to political activism.

At this stage though, are numbers are to small to have much impact, and all we can do is let people know we’re out there.

You really should start again and push hard. now more than ever we need the info you have put forward

I agree with R Morrison, particularly with an election and Rudd talking about ‘Big Australia’. People like electronics businessman Dick Smith have spoken about how nutty this is, particularly when Rudd also pushes environmental issues. There was the controversy of a facebook group “f off we’re full” & Tony Abbott also mentioned the problems of ethnic gangs.

So there is ample public concern and a greater need than ever for intelligent commentary on the issue.

I think the key is to out line the fact that most immigrants from 3rd world countries get to keep their culture but we along with Europeans have to sacrifice ours. Out line all the life style changes we will suffer with over population. Do a survey asking if immigrants would like their home town occupied by someone else which will prove a very valid point. Alot of europeans (me being a 50/50 mix) are looking for a voice to vent their anger that what they helped build in Australia is being given away. If you can fight a different battle than those fought in Europe by creating some unity with Europeans, south americans, anglos etc we will have a more positive outlook .Maltese Aussies are the most genuine patriotic aussies you will meet, its not just a skin colour topic. Get back in there and give it a go
