In July this year I wrote an article Appeals won’t stop gang crime, after the 17th teenager was murdered in London this year. Since then 11 more teenagers have been murdered, bringing the total to 28 for 2008. Prominent figures such as former Prime Minister Tony Blair have blamed the spate of murders on black culture.
Well-meaning platitudes, unfortunately, don’t stop gang violence. How many more teenagers will be murdered before action is taken?
In Adelaide this week a brawl involving 15 Sudanese immigrants left one 14yo dead and another fighting for his life. The violent murder occurred in broad daylight in a highly populated area.
Since the attacks occurred, there have been the usual calls for calm from community and religious leaders. The Australian Refugee Association has called for more counselling services to be made available.
The media has reported that the violent brawl was a fight amongst friends, who were from the same Sudanese tribe. Somewhat reassuringly for non African Australians, the Deputy Police Commissioner Gary Burns has said that “In most instances violent offences are against their own community”.
Australians are told that there is nothing to be concerned about. However, when the facts are looked at objectively, quite a different picture is painted.
Desmond Cahill, a migration and integration expert from RMIT, has been quoted as saying that it is particularly difficult for the Sudanese to adapt to life in Australia.
In Melbourne, violence within the Sudanese refugee community is well documented and a special task force, codenamed ‘Sarazan’, has been established with its main focus on African youth gangs.
Reports from Adelaide show that over the past 16 months, 450 offences had been committed by 93 members of Adelaide’s 1500-strong Sudanese community, or put another way, a staggering 1 in 16 Sudanese refugees commits on average 1 crime every 3 months.
In light if these figures, is it possible that Australia may be headed down the same path as England, with violence caused by what Tony Blair describes as “a distinctive black culture”?
The question is an explosive one, implying that Africans in one country may be the same as Africans in another country. It implies that there is not a special ‘Australianness’ that will prevent problems that have occurred all around the world from occurring here.
If it is not possible, if it is unimaginable that the problems facing England could ever occur in Australia, then Australians can rest easy and view this violence as initial integration problems.
If, however, there is even the remotest chance that this great country will be left with “a distinctive black culture” of violence, then Australians should look at its policy direction in relation to immigration, particularly the refugee intake.
One question that could be asked is whether resettling Sudanese refugees, many of whom find it difficult to adapt to the Australian way of life, is the best policy outcome that the government can provide us?
Do these refugees, who have difficulty adapting to our way of life, contribute to Enriching Australia through the well managed entry and settlement of people, which is the purpose statement of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship?
If these answers cannot be answered in the affirmative then who is looking into this high-stakes public policy failure?
I have stated previously here that Australia’s Humanitarian Program would be better described as a self-indulgent waste of taxpayers’ money. The costs involved in bringing one person into Australia could be used to support a whole village overseas.
We may not be only saving lives by adopting a more humanitarian aid program where money is spent helping people in the countries that they live in; we could also be saving Australia.

If you read andrew bolt’s blog he has some more facts. African refugees up to 4-8 times teh crime rate.
These are opinions.
But here’s the central point. Last year Nixon told us Sudanese refugees, if not all African refugees, were “under-represented in the crime statistics”. In fact, we now know Sudanese and perhaps other African refugees are over-represented — by as much as eight times.
On ABC radio this morning, the SA Police commissioner admitted that the crime rate for the Sudanese population was higher than the general rate perhaps 2 times the rate or more. Mr Burns said that over the past 16 months, 450 offences had been committed by 93 members of Adelaide’s 1500-strong Sudanese community.
What Nixon fails to add is that with just 6200 Sudanese in Victoria, this means about one in 19 Sudanese each year gets picked up for alleged crimes – more than four times the one-in-83 rate for all Victorians.
Bottom line: Nixon last year claimed Sudanese were “underrepresented” in crime figures, but her own statistics show they are overrepresented by a factor of four. She mislead by including wealthy skilled Egyptian, Zimbabwean and South African immigrants in the figures when we were specifically talking about the crime issue amongst African refugees.

A Perth teenager remains in a stable condition, despite losing an eye and suffering head injuries in an attack outside a fast food restaurant in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Teenager stabbed after Eden Hill argument (Perth). Police are looking for an African male, about 186cm tall of medium build, with short black curly hair, brown eyes and a distinctive gold chain around his neck.
Somali refugee Abdirak Mohmd Hassan was jailed for seven years after being convicted in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 28 May 2004 over a series of violent carjackings, including two knife-point attacks committed between October 13 and 25, 2002. In sentencing, Justice McKechnie said Hassan’s carjacking crimes indicated a disturbing pattern of criminality “largely alien to our society”.
Police were called to break up a violent brawl between a large number of Africans and Aboriginals in the Perth suburb of Mirrabooka on 27 December 2005. Police Commissioner O’Callaghan said police were called out 14 times in the last 12 months to similar brawls between Africans and Aboriginals.
A FORMER child soldier who raped a pregnant woman at knifepoint at a Seaton home was jailed today for eight years. The victim told the District Court Abraham Ayei Mel threatened to cut out her unborn child if she screamed during the attack. Mel is Sudanese.
The case this week of Hakeem Hakeem brings this into focus. One month after arriving in Australia this man pumped himself full of alcohol, injected amphetamines, and inhaled paint. In separate incidents, he then repeatedly raped two 16-year-old girls, bashed and raped a 63-year-old woman in her own home and terrorised a 16-year-old couple, forcing them to have sex while he watched. For all that, Hakeem Hakeem was sentenced to 24 years in jail with a minimum of 17 years.
But wait. How did this man get into Australia? You don’t develop a serious drug problem within weeks. He clearly brought it with him and should never have got through the system that supposedly filters refugees.
To her credit, chairwoman of the Sudanese Community of Victoria Shroug Mohamed does not dodge the problem. She admits drunk driving and unlicensed driving is a big issue in the community. While she is appalled by the crimes of Hakeem Hakeem, she argues it would be inhumane to deport him and suggests violence can spring from people who have spent long periods in refugee camps, or in battered countries such as the Sudan. “There is trauma and we can’t deny the post trauma reaction after they come here”, she said.
“We must recognise that the journey has been hard. “The implication of this journey could be to make people prone to be violent, specifically if they do not have the right care when they come to Australia.”
An estimated 70% of refugees coming to Australia have experienced some form of torture, including rape and physical assault, or extensive periods of living in fear, this trauma experience frequently resulting in significant mental health issues.The issues facing these communities are substantial, and include employment, education, health, problem gambling and domestic violence.
NEIL Mitchell writes: THE young policeman was angry, and cautious. He knew what he was saying was dangerous and there was no way he would put his name to it. But it had to be said: “The Sudanese kids are a real problem. “You pull them over in the car. They are drunk. They don’t have a licence. Some of them are only 14. “You tell them they’ll be charged and they laugh at you. At home, they’d be shot or beaten. “Whatever we do to them just doesn’t matter. The next day, there they are again, out on the road. “Chances are they’ll be drunk or off their heads on something.” At the time it seemed an over reaction, the words of a frustrated young officer working too hard at trying to do the right thing. But a check with his superiors confirmed his message. There was and is a serious and continuing problem with unlicensed and drunk driving among Sudanese refugees in Melbourne.
Sydney: TWO men have sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at a cemetery in Sydney’s inner-west.Police said today one man held a shard of glass to the girl’s throat while a second sexually assaulted her with an object at a cemetery near a church in Alt Street, Ashfield.
One man has been described to police as being of African appearance, 180cm tall, aged in his late 20s, clean shaven, with a muscular build, very dark complexion, a large nose and large lips.
The second man has been described as being about 170 cm tall with a skinny build.

African nationals Mumbai Peter Mulenga, 25, Likumbo Makasa, 25, and Tyrone Chishimba, 21, each face charges of aggravated sexual intercourse and aggravated sexual assault with a person under the age of 16. An explosive opening address on Monday, prosecutor Jill Cash told a District Court jury the girl was intoxicated, scared, had thrown up repeatedly and had been unconscious for some time before being repeatedly raped orally, vaginally and anally on August 30 and 31 last year.
A YOUNG woman on her way to watch her boyfriend’s football training session has been snatched from an Ipswich street and sexually assaulted by four Africans. Some people may not know that men of similar description were also involved in the attempted abduction of a schoolgirl on Queens Rd in Goodna last month.
Toowoomba: A 20-YEAR-OLD man dragged a woman off Ruthven Street into a car park where he sexually assaulted her, police alleged in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday. The defendant, who by law cannot be named unless committed to trial on the charges, was of Sudanese background and in Australia on a humanitarian refugee visa, Sergeant Turner said.
Robbery, Moorooka: Police are investigating the robbery of two men in Moorooka in the early hours of Saturday morning. Around 1.30am the two 25-year-old men were walking along Vendale Avenue towards the intersection with Goodwin Terrace. At the intersection they were approached by about four or five men described as being of African appearance. The group punched the men knocking one to the ground and smashing the other mans glasses. The group stole a wallet and ran off towards Beaudesert Road. Both men were taken to the PA Hospital where they were treated for minor cuts, abrasions and swelling.
Robbery, Runcorn: Investigations are continuing into the robbery of a 16-year-old girl at Runcorn last night. . The man is described as of African appearance, dark skinned with a slim build and around 160cm tall.
Robbery with violence, Fairfield: Police are looking for four males after a 20-year-old man was robbed near a shopping centre at Fairfield last night. Around 10.50pm the man was walking along a footpath at the rear car park of Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre when he was confronted by four men. One of the men pushed him to the ground while the others searched his pockets. The man handed over a sum of cash and the group left. They were least seen heading towards Fairfield Road. The group is described as being African in appearance.

WINNIPEG – A Sudanese immigrant was convicted Tuesday of putting the lives of six young Winnipeg women at risk by hiding the fact he was HIV-positive and then engaging in unprotected sex.
One of Mabior’s victims was a 15-year-old girl who repeatedly broke down in tears as she described being raped by Mabior after he lured her with the promise of drugs and alcohol from a temporary Child and Family Services “shelter” inside a downtown Winnipeg hotel. She was only 12 years old at the time.
“The accused preyed upon these vulnerable women, many of whom were underage and came from significantly compromised circumstances. Further, these women were supplied with alcohol and/or drugs, and lured into a sexual relationship by a sexual predator,” said McKelvey.
Mabior was arrested in early 2006 after an unprecedented public warning by police and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority that prompted several young women to come forward – many of them teenage runaways.
Police in Brandon, Man., Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and London, Ont., were also notified about Mabior, since he lived in each city after immigrating to Canada from Sudan in 2000.
Clato Mabior, 31, now faces likely deportation after what’s believed to be the country’s largest case of its kind.
The case has taken a strange twist as police have now laid additional charges believing he may have had as many as 45 victims. Cops have accused him of plying street kids – some as young as 12 – with drugs, booze and place to crash. In addition, they have also arrested his 27-year-old roommate Gabriel Deng and another unidentified man.
A NEWTOWN “house of horrors” has become the scene of another savage assault six months after a 22-year-old man was left to die at its front door. The Sudanese woman was in the house with two children at the time of the home invasion which occurred at 11.30pm, according to police. Sources say the group of Sudanese men threatened to cut her fingers off.
The house is the same one in which the son of Toowoomba Sudanese elder Albino Chol Thiik was savagely beaten on the morning of March 15.
Samuel Thiik, 22, is still being treated for the serious head injuries he suffered while the man charged with attempting to kill him, Ajac Wac, will appear again in Toowoomba Magistrates Court later this month.
A 14-YEAR-old boy charged with the stabbing murder of another teenager in a brawl has been remanded on home detention. The youth, who was arrested on Friday, appeared in the South Australian Youth Court today charged with the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Awak in an Adelaide street. Daniel was stabbed to death and another teenager was taken to hospital with knife wounds after what police said was a fight among a group of 12 Sudanese Australians, all from the same tribal group, last Wednesday.
‘A NIGERIAN man who tried to wash off his murder victim’s blood using his own urine claims he is being discriminated against in a Victorian jail because of his race. Charles Imadonmwonyi, a chronic schizophrenic, was sentenced in 2004 to a 20-year hospital security order for the stabbing death of a 29-year-old man outside a block of high-rise flats in Flemington.’ One has to ask was he a chronic schizophrenic before or after he entered Australia? He said he suspected the matter may have been dumped because those charged after the riot at Flemington one year ago were of north African descent.

All refugee groups have caused problems. THe Vietnamese probably commit a no so high level of crime but the fact we had a large number of Vietnamese migrants meant more drug routes could be open and then we had more drug addicts of all races causing societal harm.
The Lebanese muslims have and continue to cause some problems.
Just as the Sudanese are and will.

This is what happens when you treat Australia like a refugee camp. If you’re going to bring in immigrants, make sure they are from societies with similar values and ethics as ours. That’s how the Italians, Greeks, Germans, etc. managed to fit in so well. And everybody is happy and prosperous.

Well why bother even leaving their country! They have ruined their own country and seem to ruin every country they go to, Americas is stuffed, Uk is stuffed, European countries galore are stuffed and Australia is heading down the same path, give it 15 to 20 years and we will have ghetto’s and slums in evey major city. I just finished reading all this, I find it all sad and frusterating…But there is just one thing that no one seems to understand..black africans are taking over the planet. and theres nothing anyone can do. I truly feel its just part of evolution. (science). these people breed like rabbits. they burst into every country just like a disease, and once there in they grow and grow. Quite simple really. just have to live with it

Sudanese come from a warzone, cut them some slack, we need to support these people as much as we can. this is what australia does, as soon as a problem arises it overreacts, especially the media blowing everything out of proporsion, most of them are top blokes when you get to know them.
these comments are probably the most demeaning things you people can say about people who have only been in australia for little over a couple of years, who are trying to fit into australian culture, some do not understand certain laws, only because they have not been educated properly. remember that they come from a war zone in Darfur, in about 20 years time these feeble little stories about Africans commiting crimes would cease.

and everybody should take into account on how much crime is engauged from White Australians towards Blacks, there were stories of White Australians bashing a Sudanese Man named Liep Gony, the media claimed it was an african gang, the white men were found in adelaide and convicted of murdur for the mans death, another attack was inflicted by two whites who bashed an african child over the head with a glass bottle and stole his belongings.
In a way we can just be as bad as what the media is claiming the sudanese to be doing in our cities.
These People need to be helped, not verbally bashing them!!!!!!!

By the Way in FAQ, Wasn’t Australia Built on Multicultralism, 92% White (you got that from Wikipedia), that also Includes Italians, Greeks, Lebanese, Eastern Europe, Russia, Northern European, these people are from different cultures and are of a caucasius origin, they contribute to 92% White, so there is a multicultralism within the white group within its own respect. Did you Know that All North and Midland Indians are decendants of people from the Caucasius Region too.

From the beginning of the colonial era to the mid 20th Century, Australia drew its people and culture almost exclusively from the British Isles (In 1949, Australia’s population was 90% Anglo-Celtic; 98% European). Thus, to claim that “Australia was founded on multiculturalism” is completely wrong and demonstrates a total ignorance of Australian history. The truth is that Australia was founded upon British civilisation, not multiculturalism.

Hmm, I seem to recall a certain Professor Andrew Fraser who was savagely castigated for warning that importing Africans was “a sure-fire recipe for increases in crime, violence and a wide range of other social problems.”
As Fraser wrote:

You know whats funny?, people like chris and jbw who are so ignorant and self centred, people who are so scared to face the truth that they point fingers at the minority, those who live life in so much fear that they sit infront of the tv and radio and wait for the media to feed them with statistics that point all of australia’s problem to the minority of groups. The media tells u that sudanese youth form gangs and commit crimes like assault, robberies rape and even murder. But it sems like they forgot to tell u that sudanese people only commit less then 1 percent of the crimes on our street. the majority of them being those of cocasion background.
let me ask a question when was the last time a sudanese person was convicted of killing35 people in port arthur, when was the last time a sudanese was sent to 55 years for gang raping many innocent girls in the streets of sydney, oh please name me an actual Sudanese gang, by gangs i mean organised gangs, like Singwah? outlaw bikie gangs, oh i know how many sudanese people were involved in the underground drug trade between melbourne and sydney as shown in underbelly, how many sudanese mafias are there out there, well the russian mafia, wait no there not sudanese, how bout the italian mob families, no there not sudanes either… please do not compare australia with america in regards to the sudanese community. ur jus embarassing urself…let me know when u find an answere to any of these question.

About the poor Sudanese boy who drowned in the creek the other day. I listened to the story on ABC radio while in the car. The article said the family had been in Australia for less than 6 months not all that shocking but he went on to say the mother was grieving but being pregnant with her eleventh! child made it worse………………well she still has 10 other kids to comfort her.I note this information was kept out on the evening news (typical political correctness from bleeding heart whites not wanting to offend anyone) Makes me wonder how much this family costs us tax payers each week for benefits, health , education and the rest. Oh nice to see they have a government supplied house seeing a waiting list is that long the average battler cant even get accommodation……………..something to think about.
